This image of the baker girl is free from Art By Barb until the end of the January facebook colour along with a child challenge which ends on January 30th.
I coloured it using Promarkers and after cutting it out using a Tattered Lace decorative edge square I threaded narrow satin ribbon left over from dressmaking through the holes. The background paper has been in my stash for some time and the three cup cakes were cut from an old birthday card.

Snuggled up
This week the QKR Stampede challenge has the theme of anything goes.
I have used the digi image 'snuggled up' (number 9210) which I coloured using Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens. I then cut it out using a die from Tattered Lace;s oval shutter card set and matted it onto brown core'dinations card stock which I had cut out using a die from the same set.
The patchwork paper is from my stash and I matted this onto brown core'dinations cardstock and then white card. The sentiment was made from peel off letters coloured using a permanent marker and attached to white card matted onto brown core'dinations cardstock, both again cut using dies from the Tattered Lace set.

Guitar boy
The challenge this fortnight at Send A Smile 4 Kids has the theme of anything goes for kids. It is being sponsored by:
Dollar Graphics Depot who are offering a $15 gift certificate
and
Kitchen Sink Stamps who are offering a$25 gift certificate.
Like most crafter's I am reluctant to throw scraps away because 'they may come in useful'. I used some of these scraps to create the background to my image (The wonders of using a set square!) and then outlined the edges with black peel off strips. The central image is from the Dollar Graphics Depot set called band kids. After colouring it using Promarkers I cut it out using a Spellbinders oval die and matted it onto red core'dinations cardstock which had been cut out using a Spellbinders scalloped oval die. The musical notation was cut from black card and the original card was cut using the musical notes dies from Tattered Lace. Finally I finished the card with a peel off birthday sentiment.

Fireman
The QKR Stampede challenge would like you to make one for the kids this week. This card was made for my grandson whose birthday is next week.
I began by matting red paper onto white card. To this I added a scrap of flames paper which had also been matted onto white card. I coloured the fireman image (number 12906) using both Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens and cut it out using a Tattered Lace decorative circle die. Whist still in the die I dusted the edges using Distress inks.
I edged the sentiment with a red pen before attaching it to the card and then added three card candi to the opposite corner of the card.

The theme for the Crafty Cardmakers challenge this week is new beginnings. One of my nieces is expecting a new addition to her family later in the year so I have made two cards - one for a baby boy and one for a baby girl. I used several sheets of one design from Hunkydory's Little Book of Smudge and Mitten and decoupaged the image. I then added peel off sentiments which I had coloured using a permanent pen.

I matted printed paper from my stash onto red mirri and white card. The image from Rick St. Dennis called Bertie was coloured it using Promarkers, Spectrum Noir pens and a silver gel pen, after which I cut it out using a Spellbinders grand scalloped oval die. I then ran a red pen around the edge. Using the same die I cut a piece of red mirri card and offset this behind the image. The design paper is from Hunkydory's Twilight Kingdom set and I matted it onto black and then cream card and then attached the digi fairy to it. The thank you sentiment was cut out using a Tattered Lace charisma frames 1 die and I matted it onto black card cut out with the same die and slightly off centred. Petunias and humming bird
My first post of 2017 so a very happy new year to all.
I began by matting some very old paper from my stash onto mirri and the white card. The coloured image of framed petunias is from Imagine That and I printed it out five times and decoupaged it adding glitter to the body and head of the humming bird. The sentiment which I curved around the from is a black peel off. I finished the card by using the pieces left over from the decoupage to decorate the edge.
