Winter owl

I hope all had a happy Christmas and are looking forward to the new year.Card making went by the board for a few days but my family has quite a few birthdays in January so I need to start making some now.
I used distress inks and masking to create the background and wrapped a ribbon round it before matting onto navy mirri card and off white card.
The trees were cut out from glitter silk cardstock using Spellbinders holiday tree dies (I cut off the base of each) and mini gems were used to represent stars.
The owl image is stamped from Chocolate Baroques Crhistmas creature set. I coloured it using Promarkers and distress inks, cut it out and then applied Stickles to the branches and liquid Pearl to the mistletoe berries. I shaped the owl slightly before attaching it to the card with glue gel.
Pearls and a bow embellished the sentiment which was attached with foam pads.

All grown up!

This card is  for a girl who loves pink!
I wrapped pink ribbon round paper printed from Joanna Sheen's Holly Pond Hill CD ROM and then matted and layered it onto red mirri card and pink card.
The image Phoebe is from the Angelica and friends collection of stamps from Crafter's Companion. I coloured it using Promarkers and inked the edges with distress ink before matting it onto red mirri card which had been cut out with a Spellbinders floral over die. I then added pearls coloured using a Promaker pen to the border formed. The stamped sentiment was also matted onto red mirri card before attaching it to the card with foam pads. Finally a bow was added.

Birthday hound

I hope everyone had a happy Christmas yesterday and was not affected by the floods. We just suffered the loss of fencing but many local areas and  towns were badly affected. I wish them a speedy clean up.

The decoupage and printed paper for this card were taken from the CD ROM 'Paws for thought' by Cupcakecrafting.
I wrapped ribbon around the printed paper before matting it onto brown core'dinations cardstock and white card and then added a bow. The decoupage panel was also matted onto brown core'dination cardstock before fixing it to the card.. The greeting was die cut from brown mirri card using tattered lace dies.

O Christmas Tree

My last Christmas card for 2013!
I matted and layered white card and red mirri card onto another piece of white card. I then cut a doily into different size pieces and coloured them with distress inks. I glued these pieces in layers to form a Christmas tree and then applied Stickles to the shape to make the tree decorations. A peel off star was added to the top.
I then stamped a Sentiment using a Kaisercraft stamp and coloured it using Promarkers.

Tool boxes

I made my grand daughters Christmas crackers in which we would put some money for them to spend after Christmas, however I thought that my grand sons would prefer something a little more manly. I have made them little tool boxes which could be hung on the tree. They are printed using a My Craft Studio Papercraft Library CD ROM. I then used tattered lace dies to cut out the letters for the names.
I used a Spellbinders holiday tree die to cut the core'dinations trees for the tags. These were matted onto white card which had been inked with distress ink. The Father Christmas stamp was from a Creative Stamping magazine and I coloured them using Promarkers and added glitter to the fur on the hats and coats. These were shaped slightlly before attaching them to the tag with glue gel. Two silver snowflakes were then added to each. The tags were attached to the tool boxes by tinsel.

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:

Puppy love

This card is for a dog lover. I have tried to give it a Christmas feel, whether I have succeeded or not I leave for you to judge.
I wrapped green ribbon round white card and matted and layered it onto green mirri card and the base white card.
The image is from a Joanna Sheen Giordano stamp called 'It's only me' and I have coloured it using Promarkers. Distress inks were used around the edges and glitter was applied to the flowers. I matted it onto green mirri card before fixing it to the card.
A bow, card candi and a sentiment were then added.

The old boot

This is my last contribution as a guest designer for the House Mouse and Friends challenge for which the theme this week is ' use silver and/or gold' . I have enjoyed taking part.
This House Mouse image, 'Finders Keepers', was one of the first stamps that I bought. I was attracted to it because there is such a lot going on. In this particular instance I have decided to use golden acorns. Those mice will get such a shock when they try to eat them! I have coloured the image with a mixture of Promarkers, distress ink and gold and silver gel pens.
I matted paper printed from one of Joanna Sheen's CD ROMS and gold mirri card onto white card having first wrapped brown ribbon round one end of the paper. I then glued gold and silver card candi onto the ribbon.
The  image once coloured was matted and layered onto brown core'dinations cardstock and gold mirri card. The sentiment was die cut from gold mirri card using tattered lace dies and glued onto a frame printed from the above CD ROM and then matted onto brown core'dinations cardstock.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Creative Fingers - anything goes + optional something old (stamp)
   Crafty Catz - anything goes
QKR Stampede - 3 favourite embellishments (dies for sentiment, ribbon, card candi)

A tune for you

A short break from Christmas cards as several birthdays are looming.
I printed the background paper from the My Craft Studio Papercraft Library 'Men-y' Happy Returns CD ROM and matted and layered it onto black card, core'dianations glitter silk cardstock and white card. I then matted a strip of paper printed from a La Pashe CD ROM onto glitter silk cardstock and fixed it to the bottom of the card. A glitter button threaded with twine was stuck to the left hand side of this.
The digi image is Techno Guy from KennyK and I coloured it using Promarkers. I shaped it slightly before fixing it to the card with glue gel.

Dr. Who?

My family is a big fan of Dr. Who, so when I saw this digi of the police box at Sribbles Designs I could not resist it. It also fitted in with the theme that we have for the Creative Corner challenge this week - your favourite colour combo - as my favourite colour is blue.
The background paper was matted onto blue mirri card and then layered onto white card. The 'stars' had turquoise Stickles applied to them and when these were dry other colours were applied on top.
The police box was coloured using Promarkers. H2O paints were then used on the windows, the light and the roof of the box before attaching it to the card with foam pads.
Finally a phrase used by David Tennant's doctor was added.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Lisa B. Designs - all that glitters
   Allsorts - anything but Christmas
Here Come The Boys - anything goes for the boys
Glitter n Sparkle - show us some blue

Penguins fun

I cannot help but smile when I look at this image from Di's Digis, The penguins are having so much fun getting the tree ready!
I have coloured the image using Promarkers and then applied glossy accents to the baubles and Stickles to the snow. This was then matted onto red mirri card and the white base card.
I die cut the Christmas tree form core'dination cardstock, added a peel off to it and then shaped it slightly before attaching to the card.

I wish to enter this into the following challenges:

A Christmas Carol

Well, getting near the finishing post for this year's Christmas cards. I have made several of these in varying colours. The image is taken from the LOTV  'A Christmas carol' stamp. I have coloured it using Promarkers and added Stickles to the falling snow and also to that lying on the ground. I then dusted varying lilac and blue distress ink around the edges before matting it onto lilac card. I also coloured card candi using Promarkers before attaching them and then finished the card with a simple peel off.

Happy Christmas

This image is from a stamp by Chocolate Baroque. I have made several of them, but have used different colour of mirri card on which to mount the image. This one uses red, (although the photograph makes it look black), and is perhaps my favourite choice of colour. The image itself is coloured using Promarkers and distress inks with the addition of a little glitter.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Penny Black and More - traditional Christmas colours
Paper Pretties Weekly - it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

For you

I coloured this image called 'feeding robins' from Lili of the Valley with Promarkers and then added frosted lace Stickles to the falling snow and snow on the window ledge. It was then matted onto deep red core'dinations cardstock.
I used the die cut words 'especially for you' because I thought it could also describe the image. Finally gems of varying sizes were added to mirror the falling snow.

It's warmer in there

Here's another card featuring the House Mice. (Again the stamp is from one of Joanna Sheen's sets).
I matted designer paper from Papermania onto blue card and outlined it with silver peel offs. Two further papers were used to create 'flags'.
I coloured the image using Promarkers and added Stickles to the snow and dots in the sky to portray falling snow. It was then matted onto dark blue mirri card and attached to the card with foam pads.
I then added a bow and three gems to finish the card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Caroling mice

Well I must make a big effort this week and complete making my Christmas cards. The image on this card is from the Penny Black stamp 'caroling trio'. I coloured it using Promarkers and then cut part of it out and matted it onto a starry night designer paper from Wild Rose Studio. I then matted it onto purple mirri card. Lots of glitter was added around the lantern and also on the snow and stars, although I think I might have overdone the light around the lantern.
I wrapped ribbon round some contemporary Christmas paper from Papermania which in turn was wrapped round a DL size card. The stamped topper was then attached to the card. Finally a bow and a glittered stamped sentiment were added.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
   Penny Black Saturday - sparklers

Christmas warmth

I do love the house mice. Here is another one of the images from Joanna Sheen's Christmas House Mouse Designs. I have coloured it using Promarkers and matted it on to red mirri card and then added glitter to the Christmas light and its surroundings.
I wrapped ribbon round the Christmas tree designer paper from Wild Rose Studio's Xmas Bella paper pack and this together with more red mirri card was matted and layered onto green card.A bow was added to the left hand side.
The little Christmas trees were cut from green mirri card using a Spellbinders die and a peel off letter was added to each before fixing them to the card with glue gel. The stamped topper was then attached to the card using foam pads.

Christmas Tree

This is my third challenge for which I have been lucky  enough to be a guest designer at House Mouse and Friends. The theme for this latest challenge is Christmas.
I have eight grandchildren and I thought this card would be slightly different to the ones that they normally receive - a Christmas tree pop up card.

For this card I made use of the little stamps that you get with Joanna Sheen's House Mouse designs stamp sets. All were coloured using Promarkers and then cut out (the fiddly bit). The lights on the trees used one of the stamps several  times and were cut and pasted onto the tree. Peel off stars were added and the little 'fairy' mouse had glitter added to the wings.
Two other little mice were added to the folds either side of the tree.
Finally designer paper and 'happy Christmas' peel offs were added to the base.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
