I kept my card simple as Christmas had suddenly crept up on me and I still had many cards to make. I used the image feeding he birds (number 10501) and coloured it using Promarkers. After matting it onto green card I added a sentiment using green peel off letters and some silver snowflakes.

Masculine best wishes
The start of new year sees the birthdays of quite a few of my male relatives. This is the first card of the batch. I matted paper from my stash onto black and then white card after which i added a border using a strip from another paper. The picture is cut down from one of the designs in Hunkydory's Little Book of planes, trains and automobiles and was also matted onto black card before attaching.
The greeting was cut from black card using the Tattered Lace ornamental best wishes die and removing all the 'extras'. Finally I added three black card candi.

Santa
The theme for the challenge at QKR Stampede is Santa. This image of tangled Santa (number 16402) made me laugh. I coloured him using Promarkers and then fussy cut him out and pasted him onto black card as I felt this made the image stand out more. After rounding the corners using a punch I matted it onto white card, paper from a pad called Berry Merry by Jennifer Ellory and then white card. Using a tattered Lace die I cut two lightbulb garlands, coloured them using Promarkers and attached them to the card.

Christmas robin
I have many birds, including robins, in my garden and from my kitchen window I watch them picking at the berries on my neighbours holly tree so I could not resist this Fluffy robin Tattered Lace charisma die and the accompanying CD ROM.
I matted the more colourful of the papers onto brown core'dinations cardstock and then white card. The more muted paper I cut into a circle using a Spellbinders die and matted it onto core'dinations cardstock which had been cut out using a scalloped circle die. From white card I cut a spray using a Tattered Lace holly swirl die and coloured it using Promarkers. I then decoupaged the fluffy robin and positioned him on the spray. Finally I added peel off letters in the scallops to form my greeting.

Stockings
This week the QKR Stampede challenge would like you to use non traditional Christmas colors, so I have used browns and greys and tried to create a look of the late 40's.
The image is called Stockings hung (number 9003) and after colouring it using Promarkers I cut it out and using foam pads matted and layered it onto paper (which I thought looked like old-fashioned wallpaper) from my stash, core'dinations cardstock and white card. I then found some waste from a peel off greeting, matted it onto mirri card and positioned it over the fireplace where perhaps a mirror or picture would have been placed.

Christmas tag
For the QKR Stampede challenge this week you are being asked to make a Christmas tag.
I created my tag by simply using a Tattered Lace half circle die at one end of a rectangle and a hole punch. The image is number 19603 and is called pine cone accent. I coloured it using Promarkers and added glitter to the foliage. I then matted it onto dark green card and stuck a peel off sentiment strip in a half semi-circle around the image. I added two strips of ribbon (one green and one grey) for the tag tie.

All is bright
MKH is sponsoring this week's challenge at Creative Corner the theme of which is retro/vintage Christmas.
The background nativity scene was printed using Once Upon A Christmas CD ROM from Creative Crafting World.
The left hand border was made using the digi image Christmas candle from MHK Designs. I coloured the candles and greenery using Promarkers, the baubles using Sakura gel pens, used liquid pearls for the berries on the foliage and foiled the lines around the flames. After using distress ink on the background I attached it to the nativity scene and wrapped narrow ribbon along the border edge before matting the whole onto cream card. I then attached the sentiment, also from MHK, and outlined the edges using black peel off strips.

I cut the lower edge of the bauble paper by Jennifer Ellory using a Tattered Lace pearl border die and matted it onto a square of paper from We R Memory Keepers. I then attached a strip of narrow ribbon at the lower edge and matted the whole onto white card.
The digi image is from Art By Barb and is called Bearing gifts. After colouring it using Promarkers and a silver gel pen I cut it out using a Tattered Lace pearl rectangle die. The red and gold crackers which I arranged at the base of the image were cut from another Tattered Lace die.

Sing a new song
This week the QKR Stampede challenge has the theme of angels. As a change I decided to make a circle stepper card using dies from Tattered Lace.
I matted music design paper from Kaisercraft onto pink card and attached satin edged yellow organza ribbon over pink satin ribbon to this before matting onto the stepper card.
I coloured the image carolling (number 7304) using Promarkers. After cutting it out using a Tattered Lace oval die I ran a Promarker pen around the edge before matting it onto pink oval card. I then attached it to the stepper using foam pads and added a yellow organza bow.

Birthday wishes
As a change from square or rectangular cards I have tried my hand at making an oval card by placing an oval die over the folded edge.
The image called Honey Anime 2 from Scrapper's Delight was coloured using Promarkers. Using oval dies I cut it out and matted and layered it onto two sheets of design paper from THe English Paper Company's Siesta Collection, dark blue core'dinations cardstock and white card. I then found that the card would not stay upright (I should have realised that!) so I attached a rectangular strip to the base of the card front and used this for my peel off wishes. I positioned the digi thank you (number 17407) inside the digi image rose label (number 21005) before printing them out. I coloured the image using Promarkers, fussy cut it and attached it to the card using glue gel. I then attached the two coloured roses which I had prepared earlier.

Golden wedding
The Creative Corner challenge this week has the theme anything goes.
I was asked at short notice to make a card for a golden wedding and this is what I came up with. The person was obviously pleased with it because they asked me to make a second one for another golden wedding!
I matted cream pearlescent card onto white card and outlined it using gold peel off strips. Using more of the pearlescent card I cut a heart using a Tattered Lace die and matted it onto gold mirri card which I had cut using a Tattered Lace pearl pin dot heart die. The sentiment inside the heart was created using gold peel off words and the names were made from gold peel off letters.

The sentiment was also from Imagine That. Winter wishes
There is a new challenge beginning today at Crafty Cardmakers. The theme is to use dry or heat embossing.
I took a sheet from Hunkydory's Little Book of Festive Birdsong and attached it centrally to a 5x7 silver card. I then cut a piece of white pearlescent card slightly smaller than this and embossed it using Sheena Douglas' festive embossing folder. Before attaching it to the card I cut around the inner embossed lines to create an aperture.
I used a Tattered Lace die to cut 'winter wishes' from both black card and pale blue pearlescent card and attached them to the card with the black sentiment underneath and slightly to the side of the pearlescent one to create a shadow effect.

The theme for this week's challenge at Creative Corner is encouragement.
I printed a sunflower design onto pearlescent paper and matted it onto gold mirri card after which I tied a satin ribbon round the lower edge before matting it onto white card. Cottage garden
The theme for the new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is 'explosion of colour'. I immediately thought of a garden when all the flowers are in bloom so I have made a card using a sheet from Howard Robinson's decoupage set from Joanna Sheen. After making up the decoupage I matted it onto pink core'dinations cardstock. The background paper was printed using My Craft Studio's CD ROM called Bloomin' Perfect and this was matted and layered onto core'dinations cardstock and white card. The greeting was cut using Tattered Lace sentiment dies. Each word was cut twice - one in black and one in green - and attached to give a shadow effect.

I used their digi called vegan chilli bowl and coloured it using Promarkers. I cut it out using a Spellbinders circle die and matted it onto core'dinations cardstock which I had cut using a Spellbinders classic scalloped circle die.
The paper which I had in my stash was matted onto paler core'dinations cardstock and then onto white card. The sentiment was made from brown and orange core'dinations cardstock which had been cut using letters from Tattered Lace's elegant alphabet set of dies. The letters were arranged to mimic the steam trails and the orange ones were placed on top of the brown ones to create a shadow effect.
