Flowers with love

Here is a card to show your love for someone without getting swamped with hearts.
I fixed the band of rose patterned paper to the lower half of a square of striped paper and then bordered this with 3 mm ribbon. This was then matted and layered  onto grey mirri card and white card.
The image from Crafter's Companion Party Paws collection of stamps was coloured using Promarkers, edged with distress ink and matted onto black mirri card cut out using a Spellbinders classic scalloped circle die. It was fixed to the card with foam pads. A matching bow was attached to the basket of flowers.
I finished the card with two card candi and three red hearts.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Loving you

As a break from stamping I have used the Valentine Bears CD ROM from Debbi Moore Designs to create this twisted easel card.
For the base of the card I matted the printed paper onto brown core'dinations cardstock. I cut out one of the hearts from the unused paper of the sheet, selecting it so that it so that the writing on the cut out heart would correspond with the wording on the base sheet. I cut this in such a way that part of the heart was used flat on the card and the other part adhered to card and attached to the base with foam pads to form a stop for the twisted easel. I then added lots of glitter to all three hearts.
The decoupage sheet was printed onto glossy photo paper to add shine to the card. In order to keep the thickness of the card down (bearing in mind postage costs) I only used some of the printed layers. I then added more glitter to the hearts and rose.
I applied double sided tape to the lengths of the 3 mm wide ribbons and attached these to the sides of a square of brown core'dinations cardstock. This was then matted onto white card  and fixed to the lower triangle of the easel mechanism. I fixed the decoupaged image to this and added gold hearts to the side ribbons.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
   Debbi Moore Designs - love
Whoopsi Daisy - bring on the bling and sparkle

Surprise!

Here is another card with the lovable Popcorn the bear, again taken from the romance set from Crafter's Companion.
I wrapped red ribbon round the designer paper which I have had in my stash for some years now! This was matted and layered onto red mirri card and white card. The Popcorn image was coloured using Promarkers and distress ink was applied to the edges. I matted this onto some more red mirri card, added three pink pearls and attached it to the card. Three roses from Wild Orchid Crafts together with three punched leaves and a large bow made from heart design ribbon were then added.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Penguins

I have used another image from Jayne Netley Mayhew for this birthday card. This one is called penguins and my son loves these creatures. I have coloured it using Promarkers, cut it out using a Spellbinders majestic labels 25 die and done faux stitching around the edge. This was then attached to black core'dinations cardstock which had black ribbon wrapped round it before matting it onto white card. Four card candis were then glued to the corners of the image, a large black bow glued to the black vertical ribbon and a white happy birthday peel off attached to the lower half of the ribbon.

Badger

I think I am becoming addicted to spots! Here is another card using the black spots on white background. On its own the paper is a bit dazzling on the eyes but by adding toppers on top it becomes a little more bearable.
The paper is matted onto black card and then white. The image (called badger!) is from Jayne Netley Mayhew's collection and I coloured it using Promarkers, going over the stamped part to emphasize the black. I cut it out using a Spellbinders circle die and matted and layered it on black card, grey core'dinations cardstock and white core'dinations cardstock all cut out using Spellbinder dies. Three more smaller circles were cut out from the same materials and matted and layered to form the base on which to stick the sentiment.

Black and white spots

I have just purchased this stamp from Lili of the Valley so thought I would get ahead of the game and make a card for another one of my grandsons.
I matted and layered the  paper with the black spots and black card onto white card. I then matted the paper with the white spots onto black card and attached this centrally to the main card. (The sheets of paper on their own sent my eyes a little funny!) The image called 'football bears' was coloured using Promarkers and I matted this onto a further piece of black card before fixing it to the card  with foam pads. The sentiments are white peel offs and these were stuck onto black card before being matted onto white card.

I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:
Without Words - spots and/or stripes
Lili of the Valley - anything goes

Me and my teddy!

I wanted to make a girly card but I also had to bear in mind postage so it could not have much in the way of embellishments. The result is the above card.
I wrapped 3.5cm wide lace around one edgd of spotty lavender paper. On top of this I wrapped around narrow lavender ribbon. This, together with lavender mirri card was matted and layered onto white card.
The image 'Its a bit high' from Di's Digi Stamps was coloured using Promarkers and I did faux stitching to outline it. This was then matted onto lavender mirri card and attached to the card with foam pads.
I coloured  the peel off sentiment with a mixture of pen types until I achieved the colour I wanted  and then stuck it to lavender paper and matted it onto lavender mirri card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Man of the match

It is one of my grandsons birthday in a weeks time, so I have made him this card.
I layered the dotty paper onto plain blue paper and then fixed it to the scalloped card. I then matted some patterned paper onto another piece of the blue paper and attached it across the middle of the card. The image is from 'The moments in time' series of stamps from Flower Soft. I have coloured it using Promarkers and cut it out using a Spellbinders grand scalloped oval die. This was then matted onto blue mirri card which had also been cut out using one of these dies. The image was then attached to the card with foam pads. I stamped and coloured three footballs and shaped them with a ball tool before attaching to the card with glue gel. The sentiment is a peel off stuck to the blue paper, matted onto blue mirri card and attached with deeper foam pads.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Time to bake

This is a birthday card for someone who loves baking, but I hope the mice never get into her kitchen!
I matted and layered the designer paper from my stash and teal mirri card onto white card. Using a Spellbinders floral doily accent die I cut a strip of magenta mirri card and fixed this across the bottom of the card. I glued a blue gem stone into the centre of each flower and attached a bow at one end.
The image is from a House Mouse Design stamp called 'Sugar and spice and everything nice'. I coloured it using Promarkers, cut it out and used a punch to round the corners. I then matted it onto teal mirri card, fixed it to the card and glued blue gem stones in each of the corners. I used tattered lace dies to cut the best wishes from magenta mirri card.

Baby 2

This is the second of my baby cards for my nieces, again using a Lili of the Valley stamp. They have so many cute images.
I have made an easel card this time and shaped it in the form of a babies bib. The front of the card is made from pink core'dinations cardstock matted onto white card .As I do not have any lace I tried to create the effect by using silver peel offs on the white border edged with a strip of narrow pink peel offs. I attached ribbons where the bib ties would be. The image, called 'All our dreams' is coloured using Promarkers. I cut it out and attached it to the card with foam pads. I also cut out the little hearts from the stamped image but these I attached with glue gel. 'Congratulations' is cut from pink mirri card using a tattered lace die.
The base of the easel is covered with designer paper from my stash. I have used the same combination of peel offs round the edge of this. The stop for the easel is formed from the sentiment which is part of the LOTV stamp matted onto piink mirri card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Story time

I have a new stamp from House Mouse Designs depicting the happy hoppers called 'Tall Tales'. It reminded me of the three girls that my step daughter has, although I doubt they would all set still long enough to all read the same book at the same time!
I seem to have used a lot of green in this card which is unusual for me.
I matted two pieces of designer paper onto green core'dinations cardstock and then wrapped a ribbon round the overlap of the papers. This was then matted and layered onto green mirri card and white card.
I coloured the image using Promarkers and matted it onto green glitter silk cardstock - both were cut out using Spellbenders curved rectangle dies. Having attached this to the card I added a bow to the top of the chair and a matching bow to the lower left hand corner. To the upper right hand corner of the design I added a flower. Buttons were added to the card and a sentiment matted onto more glitter silk cardstock and cut out with a curved rectangle die was attached using foam pads. Die cut butterflies, using a Tonic die, were added to two of the corners.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Winter playtime

We have had a spell of frost the last few days and it reminded me that I had resolved to make one Christmas card a week to alleviate the stress of Christmas card making at the end of the year. So here is my first Christmas card for 2014!!
I matted and layered contemporary Christmas paper from Papermania and purple mirri card onto white card having first wrapped ribbon around the paper. Onto the ribbon I glued snowflakes and gem stones.
The image  'Wonderful Christmas' from Joanna Sheen's Giordano Studio stamp collection is coloured using Promarkers. distress ink and glitter. I matted it onto purple mirri card cut out using a Spellbinders floral oval die and fixed it to the card with foam pads.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Taking the same image (from the romance set of Popcorn the Bear from Crafter's Companion) as my previous post and using a different colourway I have created a CAS card. The image is again coloured using Promarkers and the surround is red mirri card. The card is completed with red peel offs.

Hearts

Who doesn't love a teddy? So here is a card with a teddy and hearts.
I formed a square card and then scored and folded one half of the card to form the easel mechanism. On each of the rectangles formed on the front of the card and on the square base of the card I matted and layered pink heart design paper and red mirri card.
I cut a strip of red mirri card using Spellbinders edgeabilities dies and matted it onto pink core'dinations cardstock to form a stop for the easel. A mini heart was stuck in each corner and a red bow in one.
I cut a heart out of red mirri card using the template I had created for one of my earlier posts and fixed this to the lower fold of the easel. I made another template of a slightly smaller heart and used this to cut a heart out of pink core'dinations cardstock. This I attached to the red heart. A mini heart and a bow were fixed to the bottom of the pink heart.
The stamped image is from Crafter's Companion romance set of Popcorn the Bear stamps and I coloured it using Promarkers. I then cut it out, shaped it slightly and fixed it with glue gel to the pink heart.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
   Crafter's Companion - hearts

Winter song

I have recently bought some gilding flakes so I am giving them a try. I thought the silver flakes would make a good cold and frosty scene, so I chose this image called 'Let your heart sing' from Chocolate Baroque. Having applied the flakes I coloured the bird with a black Promarker pen and the background using distress inks. I also used Promarkers to colour the wording at the foot of the image. I then matted it onto navy mirri card.
I attached two lengths of blue ribbon and one of white ribbon to the back of heft hand side of pale blue card. I then plaited the ribbons and secured them to the lower back of the card. This was then matted onto white card and narrow blue peel offs used around the edge of the blue card.
Having attached the image to the card I created a stamped sentiment which I attached with foam pads.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - cold and frosty

Be mine

I seem to have got into making shaped cards recently. I began this one by making a heart template that would fit into a square card and used it to cut out a heart shaped card remembering to leave a hinge! I then scored the top of the card and folded it in half to form the easel mechanism. Using the same template I cut out a red heart from glitter silk core'dinations. This I attached to the bottom half of the fold.
The base of the card I covered with heart shaped balloon paper which I had in my stash. I cannot remember which CD ROM I used as I printed it sometime ago.
The stamped image is 'Teddy flower' from Lili of the Valley and I coloured it using Promarkers, dusting the edges with distress ink. This I matted onto gemstones core'dinations to add a different texture but still keep the shine - all kids like shiny sparkly things, even big ones. I also added glitter to the centre of the flower, peel off letters to the envelope and a bow to the top corner.
Punched flowers were added to the side of the image and a mini gem stone glued to the centre of each.
The easel stop was made from part of a doily and this I matted onto red mirri card. I use a gold gel pen to go over the words on the doily and added a red bow to the base of the heart. Finally I attached red peel offs to the edge of the base.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lili of the Valley - anything goes

Happy skating

I thought I would make a card to use up some of the papers that I had printed off previously when making cards before Christmas. The background paper for the front of the card was printed from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse insert CD ROM. I matted and layer this and blue mirri card onto white card and then added glitter to the snow. The image is from Joanna Sheen's set of Gruffies stamps and  I coloured it using Promarkers. I then matted it onto blue mirri card cut out with a Spellbinders floral oval die and added some glitter to the snow at the bottom of the skates. I fixed this to the background with foam pads.
I formed the shape of a twisted easel card by scoring diagonally across the front of  a square card. I fixed the  above design to the lower triangle formed by this fold.
Onto the base of the card I matted and layered white glitter silk core'dinations and blue mirri card. Down the right hand side of this I matted and layered a strip of paper printed from La Pashe's 'Christmas with the Wrinkles' CD ROM and blue mirri card.  The stop for the easel was also made using another paper printed form this CD ROM and blue mirri card.

Congratulations

I wanted to make a card that was a little bit different, so opted for a shaped one. Using My Craft Studio to size the image to accommodate the stamped image and to fit into a standard letter length I printed a champagne bottle onto the right hand side of the card. I then folded the card in half and cut round the top of the bottle to form the shaped card. I sprayed the 'foil' with Crafter's Companion gold spray and sparkle.
The stamped image, called 'Thomas - champagne', from Lili of the Valley was coloured using Promarkers and distress inks. I matted it onto gold paper before fixing it to the card. I used small circles from peel off waste for the bubbles from the glasses and peel off letters for the sentiment on the neck of the bottle.

Welcome baby

I have nieces who are expecting babies this year so I am making several cards, some for little boys and some for little girls, to cover all eventualities. This is the first.
The image, called 'bunny moon', is form Lili of the valley. I coloured it using Promarkers and distressed inked the edges before matting it onto blue mirri card cut out using a Spellbindrs scalloped square die.
Going through my stash I found the moon and stars paper which I had printed some time ago. I cannot remember which CD ROM it came from, but I thought it was just right for this image. I wrapped blue and yellow ribbons round it before matting it onto blue mirri card.
I then attached a bow to the image once I had fixed it to the card with foam pads, stuck pearls on the ribbons and added a sentiment.

Golfing

Many members of the U3A groups to which I belong play golf, so I hope that this card will be well received.
I printed the golf club design from the Crafter's Companion CD ROM 'Popcorn the bear' onto centura pearl paper. This was then matted and layered onto brown core'dinations cardstock and white card.
I coloured the 'playing golf' image from Lili of the Valley using Promarkers and created a frame from core'dination cardstock by using two nesting Spellbinders classic square dies. This frame was attached to the image using foam pads and then fixed at an angle onto a square of golf balls patterned paper which was then attached to the card.
I then added  a 'happy birthday' sentiment.

17th Birthday

This is one of my favourite stamps because I think it is so versatile. It can be used for young boys with their toy cars through to teenagers learning to drive and onto the older generation thinking back to their youth. I have chosen it for my nephew's 17th birthday card as he can now apply for a driving licence and learn to drive.
I have used a map of the area where he lives as the backing paper for the card and matted and layered it onto dark green mirri card and a pale green card. The image called 'toot toot!' from Lili of the Valley was coloured using Promarkers and a silver gel pen. I then cut it out using a Spellbinders curved rectangle die, applied distress ink to the edges and matted it onto dark green mirri card. I attached card candi to the corners of this and wrote '17' in gold on each of the candi. Finally I added a birthday wishes sentiment.
