Hunca Munca
Earlier in the month my niece had her birthday and I made her a Jeremy Fisher card because she reads the Beatrix Potter stories to her daughter. Well, her daughter's birthday is next Saturday, so here is her card.
The image from Crafter's Companion 'The Tale of Two Bad Mice' set of stamps is coloured with Promarkers and cut out with an oval Spellbinders die. Distress ink was used for the background while the image was still in the die. This was then mounted onto matt gold mirri card which had been cut out with a scalloped oval die.
The background paper, printed from Crafter's Companion 'The Tale of Two Bad Mice' CD ROM, was also matted onto the matt gold mirri card and fixed to the base card. The mouse strip was taken from the same CD ROM. Once fixed to the card 30! mini gems were glued in place.
An oval piece of backing paper was mounted onto a scalloped oval of mirri card. Die cut number/letters were glued onto this to form a badge.
Finally three gold candi were attached.
I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafter's Companion - dies and die cuts
Wednesday Creative Inspirations - anything goes
Eureka Stamps - anything goes
Crafty Cardmaker - 1 image, 2 patterned papers, 3 embellishments - gems, badge ,candi
Fairy wishes
I have used all my eleven yellow Promarkers on this image from Lili of the Valley called 'Fairies- Bouquet'. Having cut it out using a Spellbinders floral oval die I glittered the wings and edge and then applied Stickles to the crown. I have never used so much glitter or sparkled so much myself!
The background paper is from Papermania, as is the yellow strip around which I wrapped yellow ribbon before attaching to the card. The flower is made from centura pearl and covered with more glitter, this time with Crafter's Companion iridescent spray and sparkle. Three small gems were glued to the ribbon on the opposite side of the card to the flower arrangement. Finally a sentiment was added.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Wednesday Creative Inspirations - anything goes
Lili's Little Fairies - monochrome (yellow!)

Balloons
My twin grandsons have their birthday on Friday and are going on their first beach holiday, so I thought I would reflect that in the cards I made for them. I generally make similar ones for them, then there can be no argument! This is one of the cards.
This image is from a stamp called 'sailing boat' from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker collection. I coloured it with Promarkers, cut it out and decoupaged it onto a background formed from various layers of mulberry paper. The two large balloons are made from honeycomb paper and are tied together with a label.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Joanna Sheen - boys will be boys
Dream Valley - summer days
Cute Card Thursday - beside the sea
Eureka Stamps - anything goes
Incy Wincy Designs - birthdays and balloons
And so that one twin does not feel favoured over the other here is the other card. The image used is from the same collection and is called 'sandcastle'.

The Nativity
I need to make a large number of Christmas cards, so this is a fairly quick card to make in batches.and I can use standard postage to send it!
The cute image is from Wild Rose Studio and the stamp is called Baby Jesus. I coloured it with Promarkers and mounted it onto red mirri card cut using a Spellbinder classic scalloped die.
The backing paper is from some old papers that I had, so each card is going to be different as I use up the scraps. The snow flake strip is embossed core'dinations cardstock from the whitewash collection, sanded and then sprayed with Crafter's Companion iridescent spray and sparkle. This was also mounted onto red mirri card before attaching.
Holographic snowflake peel offs were added to the background. Finally a sentiment was added.
I would like to enter this card into the following Christmas in July challenges:

Story Time
This is a birthday card for a teacher.
The decoupage topper and backing paper were printed from La Pashe's 'Something For Everyone' CD ROM. The backing paper was fixed to cream card and then gold peel offs were used to edge it. The decoupaged topper was mounted onto gold mirri card, as were the two sentiments and the pictures of books cut from magazines. The latter were attached at increasing height on the RHS of the card.
I would like to enter this into the Incy Wincy Designs Challenge called read all about it.

The big day
This card uses the colours on the wedding invitation I received from my niece. The stamp is from the Brambly Hedge summer set from Crafter's Companion. Having coloured the image with Promarkers I cut it out using a Spellbinders resplendent rectangle die and backed it onto green card which had been cut with another die in that set. I then filled the apertures in the Neenah card with glitter. The two layers were mounted onto a piece of core'dinations from the whitewash collection which had been embossed with the Sheen embossing folder Floral Fabric.
Pale pink hearts were fixed to three of the corners and a stamped bouquet to the fourth corner. Stickles was added to the flower centres. Finally a die cut sentiment was fixed to the topper.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Blackberry Fool
I like birthday cards that are 'useful', so I have made an easel card which contains a recipe.
I folded a piece of 10" by 7" card in two and used a Spellbinders grand scalloped oval to cut through the two layers to form the basis of the card, making sure that the die overlapped the fold so that the card did not end up in two pieces! One oval was then folded in half again to make the easel mechanism.Using the same die I cut a piece of green card which I attached to the lower fold to form the easel and a piece of Neenah card.
The Neenah card was stamped with a blackberry fool recipe from Joanna Sheen's country kitchen series. I coloured the image with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the fruit and glitter to the leaves. Distress ink dusty concord was used round the edges, before attaching it to the base of the main card. Die cut 'Best' 'Wishes' were then added.
The stamp used for the easel top is from Joanna Sheen's Autumn House Mouse collection. Again I coloured with Promarkers, edged with dusty concord, highlighted the berries with glossy accents and glittered the leaves. I then mounted this onto purple mirri card before fixing to the green card. A sentiment stamped onto light green card and mounted onto purple mirri card was fixed at the base of the topper.
The stop for the easel was made up of leaves stamped from the above House Mouse set and glittered!!

Lots of presents
I needed to make a fairly quick card, so opted for an easy easel card.
I used a Gruffies stamp from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse designs called Bearytastic Day and coloured it with Promarkers. The sky is done with faded jeans distress ink. The image was then mounted onto black mirri card which in turn was mounted onto dark blue core'dinations card stock with a strip of gold mirri card running along the lower quarter of the card. This was then attached to the grey base card.
The base of the easel is covered with paper bearing pictures of parcels in the right hand corner, although this does not show up very clearly in the photo. The stop is comprised of a mini envelope with a Happy Birthday sentiment on it mounted onto a short strip of gold mirri card.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Summer ride
In making this card I have taken a break from stamping. The decoupaged image and background paper were printed from La Pashe's CD ROM 'Something for Everyone.
I embossed, using a Darice nature folder from Crafter's Companion, a strip of core'dinations card stock and then sanded it. Having attached this strip to the backing paper I wrapped ribbon around it and fixed the whole to the base card. The main image is mounted onto matt gold mirri card and then fixed at an angle to the card. Flowers and leaves were punched from core'dinations card stock and glue gel used to attach them to the card. Mini gems were then clued to the centre of each flower. Finally a 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment was added.
I wish to enter this into the Allsorts challenge called transport.

Christmas Post
With all the current heat and sunshine it feels strange to be making my Christmas cards.
Looking through last years left over wrappings I found some sparkly Christmas ribbon. I backed this onto dark pink card and wrapped it round the spotty backing paper before attaching it to the base card. The Lili of the Valley stamp, called 'Lots of Letters', is coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto red mirri card. Glitter frostings were added to the 'fur' trimmings and crystal glitter to the snow. The image was mounted onto grey window pane paper and dark pink card and then attached to the card with foam pads. Five snowflakes cut using Spellbinders dies were glued to the topper and three twinkle candi were glued to the top and bottom of the card. Finally a mini envelope and Merry Christmas card were added.

Cracker 2
For this second cracker I have made an easel card. The main background is red card sprayed with Crafter's Companion silver spray and sparkle. Silver ribbon was wrapped round this before it was attached to the base card.
The House Mouse image (again coloured with Promarkers) is mounted onto red card and silver mirri card. Crystal glitter was applied to the tree and ground and glossy accents to the candle. Individual mice were decoupaged around the central image as embellishments and one was used as the stopper for the easel.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cracker 1
This is the first of two cracker cards that I am making. To form the cracker shape I took a DL card and cut pieces from it. The background is metallic gift wrap and the 'pulling' ends are decorated with gold mirri card cut using a Spellbinders edgeabilities die. To these I added crystal glitter and xmas red stickles.
The House Mouse image is coloured using Promarkers and mounted onto red mirri card. I have added crystal glitter to the parcels.

Wishing line
The stamps used here are from Jayne Nesorenko 'Wishing line' from the cute companions collection from Crafter's Companion. The wishing line was stamped and when masked the line of trees was stamped. The image was then coloured with Promarkers and the background dusted with mowed lawn and stormy sky distress inks. I then mounted the result onto orange and yellow card before fixing to the card base. The 'best' mouse was also coloured with Promarkers and then decoupaged onto the central panel. Flowers punched from the orange and yellow card with a mini gem in the centres were added as a final touch.
I would like this card to be considered in the following challenges:
Joanna Sheen - citrus colours
Cute card Thursday - oranges and lemons

Mr Jeremy Fisher
Here is the next birthday card. My niece reads the Beatrix Potter stories to her young daughter, so although this card is for her birthday the picture is for my great niece!
This stamp from Crafter's Companion is coloured with Promarkers, die cut with a Spellbinders classic oval die and then mounted onto mirri card cut with a Spellbinders floral oval die. The background of the card is formed from Core'dinations taken from the whitewash collection. This was embossed using the Darice embossing folder 'corner scroll' and the embossed areas were then sanded and glittered. (Doesn't really show up in the photo.) The sentiments (Happy birthday xxx) hang from the main image by the use of split rings and are cut from mirri card using Spellbinders lacy oval dies.

Little Princess
Here is the second of those birthday cards. The stamp used is Isobel from Crafter's Companion Angelica and friends collection. I have coloured it with Promarkers and dusted it with scattered straw distress ink.
To make the 'star' I constructed a regular pentagon within a 2 inch circle on duo paper and then cut and folded. The construction of a pentagon can be found on the following web site: www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/construct-pentagon.html
As my grand daughter loves sparkly things the sentiments have had glitter added to them - Stickles starry night. Little peel off stars and moon and star sequins have been randomly stuck to the background and star.

The rose garden
I have five birthdays in my family within the next week, so here is the first of those cards. This stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I have again used Promarkers to colour it. I edged it with tattered rose distress ink and then mounted it onto red mirri card, using Spellbinders to cut the shapes. The patterned papers (with more roses!) are from Wild Rose Studio's Annabelle's range. The vertical strip was trimmed using Spellbinders edgeabilties dies. Ribbon was wrapped round this before attaching to the card and three tiny gems were glued at the top and bottom of the strip. The circular centre piece was mounted onto light and then dark pink centura pearl. The flowers were made from centura pearl which had been coloured with red Promarker. A red bow and die cut leaves finished the embellishment.
I would like to enter the card into the following challenges:
LOTV - pretty in pink
ABC - roses are red
Lili's Little Fairies - happy birthday

Owl
Owls are one of my favourite birds. This owl, coloured with Promarkers, is from Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mewhew collection.
I embossed brown core'dinations cardstock using the Darice wood grain folder, sanded it and then used a Spellbinder die to cut the aperture, which I then ringed with peel offs. Originally I was going to place the owl onto a very dark background so that he appeared as if in a tree hollow but I decided it would be too dark, so he remains on the white Neenah background. Brown ribbon was wrapped round the bottom of the card before fixing to the base card.
The embellishments are made from die cut flowers and ivy and a couple of candi. Finally a lighter piece of core'dinations was embossed and distressed with brown ink to form the 'wooden' happy birthday notice.

An evening stroll
This image from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker All Our Yesterdays is called 'Little Dog'. I coloured it with Promarkers and then framed it with two colours of core'dinations card from the neutrals pack. The paler card, however, is a little more creamy than the photo would suggest. I stamped and coloured some sea creatures from folia's variostamp maritime set and attached them to the frame with glue gel.

What a naughty mouse!
Indulging again in the favourite pastime of colouring house mouse images. I love this cheeky stamp. It's just the sort of thing siblings get up to!
I used Promarkers (as usual) to colour the image and cut it out using a Spellbinders postage stamp die. Having used faded jeans distress ink around the edges I mounted it onto dark blue card. The balloon backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker CD ROM is also backed onto dark blue card. I wrapped red, blue and white ribbons around this before fixing to the base card. The sentiment was made from red mirri card and white card cut using Spellbinders pinking circle dies and blue coloured lettering.
I wish to enter this into the following challenges:

Gingerbread house
As mentioned in my earliest blogs I do love the house mice. This is one from Joanna Sheen's Christmas set.
I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut it out using a Spellbinders lattice rectangle die and distressed with mowed lawn ink. Once I had mounted it onto red mirri card I cut around the die cut. The jelly bean backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse project book volume 1 Perhaps not christmassy in the traditional sense but I thought it went with the image. I edgedit with red peel offs. The sentiment was also made by using the smallest lattice rectangle, backing it onto red mirri card and attaching an individual mouse.
I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:
House Mouse & friends Monday - food
Whoopsi Daisy - Christmas in July

Keeping warm
I don't usually start making my Christmas cards this early, but the weather has been so hot it has been pleasant to stay indoors and craft.
This image is from one of Joanna Sheen's winter sets of House Mouse stamps. I have coloured it with Promarkers, added stickles for snow and backed it onto dark navy. The main backing paper is sanded Core'dinations from their classic Christmas collection. Snow flake patterned paper backed onto dark navy was used for the other panels. The snowflake embellishments, cut from mirri card using a CREAlies die, were adhered with differing thicknesses of foam pad.
Now I had better get on with the others!

Cup cake
After many drawings and cutting out of scrap paper I have managed to make a cup cake shaped card. The image coloured with Promarkers is from Joanna Sheen's Happy Days set of House Mouse rubber stamps. I think the hand made paper makes quite good icing as it adds texture. I used red mirri card to make the 'cherry' and white peel offs for the 'piped' letters.
I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:
Joanna Sheen - don't be square
Cupcake Craft - anything but square
House Mouse & Friends Monday - food
Time flies
This is a birthday card I have done for one of my nieces. It was fairly quick to make, the longest amount of time being taken up in finding a picture of a swallow tail butterfly so that I knew the colouring to use. The image is from Stamps Away and is coloured using Promarkers. I stamped and coloured a second butterfly to decoupage onto the basic image. I did faux stitching around the edge and backed it onto torn glittered mulberry paper. The sentiments were stamped onto paper matching the backing paper and then mounted onto gold mirri card. Square gems were used to embellish the lower sentiment.

Gardening
I love stamping and colouring (back to childhood) as I find it quite relaxing. Apart from card making one of my favourite things is gardening - so you could say this card combines both!
This image is the glamorous gardening stamp from Lili the Valley. I have coloured it with Promarkers and mounted it onto pink mirri card. The many layers of matting are taken mostly from an old Papermania pack, but one is from Annabella's Meadow paper pack from Wild Rose studio. The bunting(?) is made using punches, gems and twine.
I wish to enter this card into the following Challenges:
The ABC - quite a few layers
LOTV - pretty in pink

Just to say ...
Another cute Lili of the Valley image! This one called 'The little things' was coloured with Promarkers as were the flowers, which were made using various punches/dies, and the words. The image was then mounted onto red mirri card cut out using a Spellbinder die. Various papers from some old stash were used in the matting and layering. I've now got to make an envelope in which to post it.
I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lili's Little Fairies - red, white and blue
Dream Valley - make your own flowers/embellishments

Butterflies on blackberries
The image from Stamps Away is coloured with Promarkers, edged with milled lavender distress ink and mounted onto pale purple mirri card. Two further butterflies were stamped, coloured and sprayed with Crafter's Companion iridescent spray and sparkle and attached to the design.
I used papers from Joanna Sheen's lace designs as backing for the card. Finally narrow lace coloured with milled lavender distress ink was used to edge the sentiment.
