Birthday presents

Lots of die cutting on this birthday card. I began by matting and layering yellow core'dinations and brown core'dinations cardstock onto cream card.
The top band is brown core'dination cardstock with a border cut using a die from the Spellbinders ric rac set. The letters for the sentiment were cut from yellow core'dinations cardstock using Tattered Lace elegant alphabet dies.
The lower band is again brown core'dinations cardstock to which I attached two borders from yellow core'dinations. These were created using the Tattered Lace victorian rectangle die. I then wrapped a double layer of yellow ribbon round the centre of the band before attaching it to the card. I then made a double bow and glued this to the centre of the ribbon strip.
The central digi image from Make It Crafty called 'small gifts' was coloured using Spectrum Noirs and  edged with distress inks. I then matted it onto brown core'dinations cardstock.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A nice quick card for Christmas. I matted and layered white card and red core'dinations cardstock onto a ready made scalloped white card having first wrapped ribbon round the white card. I cut out the image taken from set 36 of Lili of the Valley's art pads called 'Tis the season using a Spellbinders die and matted it onto red core'dinations cardstock also cut out using a Spellbinders die and attached this to the card. The poinsettia embellishment was made using Tattered Lace lavish poinsetia dies and layering. I glued yellow pearls in the centre. Lastly I added a peel off sentiment.

Wishes

I cut an aperture in yellow core'dinations cardstock using a S pellbinders die and attached the sentiment stamped using one of Flower Soft's stamps from their second set of floral sentiments behind it before layering it onto white card.
The stamp used for the bumble bee was from cArt-Us.  I coloured it using Promarkers, cut it out and shaped it slightly before attaching it to the card using glue gel. The leaves were cut from mirri card using Spellbinders foliage dies. The flower was printed in two sizes from a digi sheet from dragons Lair Designs having first altered the colours. I cut them out and layered two of the flowers, having shaped them, and glued three tiny pearls in the centre.

Singing cake

This is a card I made for my grandson's second birthday. I matted and layered two shades of blue card onto white card. In my stash I had a remnant of printed cupcake paper. I matted this on the darker shade of blue card and attached to the card. The digi image from Meljen's Designs called 'Happy little cupcake' was coloured using Promarkers. I dusted distress ink around the edges before also matting it onto the darker blue card. Finally I used peel offs to create the beginning words of the well known birthday rhyme.

Nested boxes

This week for the Hobby Cutz challenge we would like your creation to be anything but a card.
I have made a series of nested boxes, reducing all dimensions by one centimetre to create the next smaller box. The box lids were printed onto card using the CD ROM 'Mystical Wonders' from My Craft Studio. The design on the top of the largest box is a digi called 'counting the stars' from A Day For Daisies who are sponsoring us this week. I coloured it using Promarkers and edged with distress inks before matting it onto silver mirri card. I used a silver gel pen on the little stars. On the lids of the smaller boxes I randomly attached a lazer cut butterfy from Hobbycutz. I attached mauve candy stripe round the lower part of the lid sides on the four larger boxes and then randomly glued silver stars on all edges and the tops of the boxes.

Mouse playing with leaves

I needed to make a very quick card for a little boy whose birthday is on Monday. The frame was originally from Dragons Lair Designs. I imported it into a graphics program and played around with the colouring. I cut the centre out and placed the stamped image behind it before attaching the whole to white card.
The image is from the House Mouse Designs set of rubber stamps called 'Autumn'. I coloured it using Promarkers and then lightly dusted the background with distress inks of yellow, orange and blue for a sunset.
I finished with a copper coloured peel off sentiment.

Goal!

The theme for this week's challenge at Creative Corner is 'your favourite colour combination'. My grand daughters have always been 'pink' girls but I have always preferred blue so I often combine the two colours together.
For this birthday card I began by matting and layering paper from Lili of the Valley's bonnets and bowties paper pad onto blue mirri and white card having first wrapped wide lace around the paper. The image is from the Lili of the Valley stamp 'Annabel - big kick'. This was coloured using Promarkers and then cut out using a Spellbinder oval die cutting around part of the football so that it fell outside the oval. I then matted it onto blue mirri card which had been cut out using a scalloped oval die.
I coloured peel off birthday wishes and stuck this to the edge of a doily which had been coloured using Promarkers. This was then cut and folded and attached to the card tucking it under the image. I then attached three flowers from Wild Orchid and three pieces from a large flourish cut using a tattered lace die to the bottom right hand side of the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Old owl

The digi image I used is 'Prof owl' from IKEsArt and I coloured it using Promarkers, adding glossy accents to the glasses and distressing the edges with distress inks. The background paper was printed from Peerless Designs Woodland Treasures CD ROM. Both this and the image were matted onto core'dinations cardstock having first rounded the corners using a punch.
I added a feather and sentiment cut from mirri card using tattered lace dies. Finally I added a bow to the base of the feather.

Elves

These elves appealed to my sense of humour, I just could not resist buying this digi called crackered-elf from Make It Crafty when I saw it. I coloured it using Promarkers and a gold gel pen and then cut it out. The background paper was created using My Craft Studio and I matted and layered it onto green mirri card and white card. I then attached the elves using glue gel having shaped the image slightly. I finished the card with a peel off greeting.

Penguin Carollers

I love penguins and when my daughter was at primary she did a project on them and we learnt a great deal about them, but I don't think these cheerful fellows were on the agenda! This image, coloured using Promarkers, is from Penny Black's stamp 'carolling penguins'. having cut it out I lightly dusted the edges with tumble glass distress ink.
I matted the paper printed using a House Mouse CD ROM from Joanna Sheen onto white card and then used silver peel offs around the edges. The peel offs were also used round the edge of the image. Finally I stamped the sentiment, which is from the same set of stamps and added some glitter to the pom pom on the penguins' hat.

Tug of war

Another birthday card down! I embossed centura pearl card using the Die'sire Embossalicious board 'Happy birthday' and then matted and layered it onto silver mirri and white card. The paw print paper was printed using Cupcakes 'Paws for thought' CD ROM and I matted this onto silver mirri card. The image was stamped using Lili of the Valley's stamp 'Annabel - tug of war' and coloured using Promarkers. The edges were dusted with distress ink and then matted onto more silver mirri card. I then added glossy accent to the dog's nose and finished the card with a ribbon and three gems - it is after all for a girly girl!

Have a good read

This is a card for one of my grandsons.
The images are from another set of Brambly Hedge stamps from Crafter's Companion, this time from their new collection 'The High Hills'. I have coloured them using Promarkers with a little from a gold gel pen on the book spines. The mouse image was cut out using a Spellbinders die and matted and layered onto a black circular mirri card and a silvery gold scalloped mirri card, both having been cut out using a Spellbinders die. The set of books was hand cut.
The window pane backing paper was from something I printed off about a year ago and had partly used. This I matted and layered onto silver mirri card, black mirri card and white card. I then attached a strip of black mirri card horizontally across the middle.
The sentiment was stamped using a stamp from the same set and was matted onto black mirri card which had been cut out using another Spellbinders die.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Mrs Eyebright

My daughter says if I see a mouse image I will buy it. So her birthday card had to have a mouse on it, didn't it? I hope she likes it.
I don't often make DL cards but as soon as I saw this stamp I thought DL. It is from the Autumn set of Brambly Hedge stamps from Crafter's Companion UK. I coloured it using Promarkers but used a little of the Spectrum Noir pencils on the mouse's clothes. I also used glossy accents on her eye and the blackberries.
I didn't want to use patterned paper as I thought that would detract from the image. I therefore framed the image with core'dinations cardstock, drawing and cutting the frames by hand and making the yellow aperture slightly smaller than the orange. I used black peel offs to edge the orange aperture. I attached the image and frames together and wrapped black ribbon round the right hand side before attaching all three layers to the base cream card.
Using Tattered Lace dies I cut the twirled leaves and words from mirri card. I coloured two Color Me Crazy flowers using Promarkers and layered these together using a card candi for the centre. I also attached three card candi to the ribbon.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Brave knight

The theme for this week's challenge at Hobby Cutz is 'for the boys' and is being sponsored by The Paper Shelter. This is one of their images called 'cute and brave knight' and I'm sure you'll agree would be many a little boys cup of tea.
I coloured it using Promarkers and then matted and layered it onto dark grey and then black core'dinations cardstock having first rounded all the corners using a punch. The designer paper is from an old DCWV paper stack and was matted and layered onto dark grey core'dinations cardstock and white card having again rounded all the corners. The words were cut from coredinations cardstock using tattered lace dies and fixed to white card matted onto core'dinations cardstock.

Boy guitar player

My son's birthday is next week and this little chappy reminded me of when he was younger. I don't know that he will thank me for it but I couldn't resist using it on his birthday card!
The stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I coloured the image using Promarkers and rubbed a little distress ink round three of the edges. The design paper is also from Lili of the Valley and this I matted and layered onto core'dinations cardstock and white card. The image I matted and layered onto a deeper blue LOTV paper and core'dinations cardstock twisting each slightly. The musical notes were cut using a tattered lace die, the words were created using dry transfer lettering and the corner embellishment was a coloured peel off.

I have coloured it using Promarkers. cut it out and decoupaged it to the background. The background was printed using volume 4 of the Papercraft library CD ROMs from My craft Studio.
