Scruffy balancing on a bauble

I began by attaching two lengths of ribbon to paper printed using Joanna Sheen's triple House Mouse CD ROM. these were to form the ribbon from which the baubles were to hang. I then matted and layered this onto green mirri and white card.
I die cut  two waste pieces of centura pearl using a Marianne Creatables die and matted each onto a circle of red mirri card and glued them so that they hung at the end of the ribbon lengths.
At the top of one bauble I attached waste foliage,a Tattered Lace die cut cone and a bow. Above the other I glue gelled a jester so that he appeared to balance on the bauble. This was from a digi stamp from Make It Crafty and coloured using Promarkers in less than 15 minuites! Make It Colourful's November challenge is speedy colouring.

Snowman and snowdog

I don't often make a card which does not have a stamped image on it, but this is one of them. The papers were printed using Crafter's Companion 'The Snowman and Snowdog' CD ROM. For both portions I matted and layered design paper, silver mirri and white card. Down the centre of each I added a strip of the other design matted onto silver mirri.
The sentiment, easel stop and pyramid decoupage are all from Crafter's Companion card collection. The snowflakes are from centura pearl card and cut using various Tattered Lace dies (including waste from die cuts) and are layered in decreasing sixes. I glued a pearl in the centre of each.

Carolling snowmen

For this card I matted falling snow paper printed from Crafter's Companion 'The Snowman and the Snowdog' CD ROM onto black and then white card.
The image of the snowmen is from Beccy's Place and I coloured this using Promarkers.I cut it out using a Spellbinders die and while it was still in the die rub distress inkaround the upper edges. I then matted it onto black card which had been cut out using a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. I then added black Stickles to the 'coal' buttons and diamond Stickles to one edge of each snowman.
The tags are digi stamps from Digi Stamps 4 Joy. The undernearth one was coloured using Promarkers and after I had applied distress ink to the edges I matted it onto black card. I applied Stickles to the snowflakes on the top tag and allowed this to dry before rubbing distress ink over the whole of the tag and then matting it onto black card. I added the silver sentiment to the top tag and then a bow after I had attached them to the card using varying thicknesses of foam pads.

Open window

This card was created mainly with the use of die cuts. I began by die cutting the window using Spellbinders windows 2 die from snow white with a hint of silver centura pearl card. I backed the top part of it onto a scrap piece of centura pearl card and stuck thin acetate behind the window panes. I added Stickles on the back of this to represent snow.  I cut an aperture in the fawn centura pearl and then glued the window round this aperture.
Starry paper was matted onto white card and onto this I positioned the centura pearl reindeer which had been cut using a tattered lace snowglobe reindeer die so that it would show through the window when the fawn card was placed on top. This fawn card was attached using foam tape.
From centura pearl card I cut two Christmas hellebore and some ivy using tattered lace dies. I coloured the cut pieces using Promarkers. One of the hellebore I matted onto uncoloured centura pearl and cut out. I cut the centre piece from the second and attached it to the first. Using glue gel I arranged and stuck the cut pices onto the lower part of the card.
Finally I added the sentiment to the card.

Man's best friend

This week the Creative Corner challenge is asking you to use your favourite layout. I don't often make cards with a lot of embellishments because they have to be posted and I try to keep that cost down, so instead I use layers and different papers.
Here I used paper printed using the Paws For Thought CD ROM from Cupcakecrafting and matted and layered it onto blue mirri and white card. I created the spotty paper using the My Craft Studio program and matted this onto blue mirri before attaching it to the card.
The image called Man's best friend is from a Lili of the Valley stamp and I coloured it using Promarkers. It was then cut out using a Spellbinders die and matted onto blue mirri card cut out using a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. The peel off sentiment was placed on a circle of black mirri card which was matted onto a scalloped circle of blue mirri card. Both were cut out using Spellbinders dies.

Poinsettia

I have boxes of narrow ribbon so I took the opportunity to use some of it on this card. I wrapped two lengths of green and one length of red ribbon round white card. This I then matted and layered onto green mirri and then white card. I stamped the image from Chocolate Baroque twice. The first image I coloured with distress ink and matted onto red mirri card. The second image I coloured using Promarkers. I cut out the poinsettia, shaped it slightly and decoupaged onto the first. After attaching to the card I added glitter to the centre of the flower and a greeting.

Sleepy mice

Who could resist these little sleepy mice? Have they fallen asleep whilst waiting for Santa or are they tired out by all the Christmas preparations?
The image is from one of Joanna Sheen's Christmas set of House Mouse stamps and I have coloured them using Promarkers. I added some Stickles around the candle flame. The sentiment was stamp using one of the stamps from Crafter's Companion sentimentals sets. I matted and layered  the finished square onto red mirri and then white card.

Musical mice

I chose a musical theme for this Christmas card. Both design papers are taken from La Pashe's Christmas wrinkles CD ROM and were matted onto black card before attaching to the card.
The image is from Joanna Sheen's Christmas House Mouse set of stamps and I coloured it using Promarkers. It also was matted onto black card before attaching to the card.
The sentiment is a peel off attached to black card and matted onto white. The greenery are die cut using a Tattered Lace foliage die and covered in glitter, although the glitter does not show up that well in the photograph. They are tied together with ribbon and fixed to the card using glue gel.

Christmas prayer

We are getting there - another Christmas card done. Using a stamp from Elusive Images (now Chocolate Baroque) Christmas foliage set I stamp the ivy trail onto a square white card and then stamped it a second time on a strip of card. I coloured both using Promarkers. I cut a larger square and coloured the edges with one of the Promaker pens I had used to colour the leaves. I then matted and layered the white stamped square onto this then onto another square of white card. I cut out the leaves from the second coloured image and decoupaged them onto the square card. I added a few dots of white Liquid Pearls to form ivy berries.
Using the same Promarker pen I coloured a strip of white ribbon and added this as a bow to the base of the ivy trail.
The prayer is from the same set of stamps and I matted this onto card, again coloured using the Promarker pen and attached it using glue gel. Finally I cut a ivy motif using a Marianne creatables die, coloured it using the Promaker pen and attached it to the top corner of the card.

Keeping warm

I thought this image from Joanna Sheen's winter collection of house Mouse stamps had a more masculine feel about it than cute snowmen.
I stamped the image onto a square piece of white card, masked off the edges so that a white border would be formed and dusted the card with distress ink. I used Promarkers to colour the image using a lot of the blender pen to achieve the lighter pink and applied Fluffy Stuff and Sparkles to the snow on the branches.
I cut out a larger square of white card and coloured the edges using the pink Promarker and matted and Layered the image onto this, black card and then grey card.
I finished the card off with a happy Christmas banner.

Nativity wreath

Here is another Christmas card. I began by using Clarity Stamp's nativity stamp in the centre of a square of white card. I then matted and layered this onto black and the green card.
I die cut a circular ring of card and attached Tattered Lace die cut holly, foliage and pine cones to it. Varying colours of Stickles was applied to the foliage, pine cones and star. Red Liquid Pearls was used to form the berries. Finally I added a red bow and peel off sentiment.

Poppies

Today we remember the dead of the two world wars as well as those who have given their lives in other wars, so I was mindful of making this card which uses the poppy which reminds us of these events.
I began by stamping randomly over a piece of green square card using a small stamp from Elusive Images (now Chocolate baroque) summer poppies set. I then dusted distress ink over the card, wrapped a red ribbon round it and matted and layered it onto black and then white card.
The vertical panel is also using a stamp from the same set. I coloured it using Promarkers, dusted distress over it and matted it onto black card
The main image is from the flora and fauna set of stamps. I coloured this using Promarkers and went over the poppies using pencils. I cut the image out leaving a narrow margin around the edge and then matted it onto black card, cutting this out and again leaving a edging. I attached it to the card using glue gel. Finally I added a bow.

Cold penguins

My elder brother's birthday is next week and as the weather is a little chilly at the moment especially coming after a warm October I thought this image from Pollyanna Pickering's snow and ice collection was appropriate.
I attached triangles of textured paper to the corners of a piece of square white card to form a central square. In this square I glued a mixture of polar white flower soft and glitter. I added peel off to the outside edges of each triangle and card candi together with a peel off sentiment to the body of these shapes. I matted the topper onto black card cut out using a Spellbinders scalloped oval die and attached this to the flower soft centre using glue gel.

A study in brown

The challenge this week at Creative Corner is to make a Christmas card. So come and join us and get one step nearer to completing your cards.
As this Lili of the Valley image is of a vintage looking character I thought I would just use browns on my card. I printed the background paper using the La Pashe CD ROM 'Christmas with the Wrinkles' and the added vintage photo distress ink to it. This was then matted and layered onto brown mirri card and white card.
I coloured image called 'Festive Lantern' using Spectrum Noir pens, added distress inks to the edges and glittered it. I then matted it onto brown mirri card fixing it at a slight angle.
The words for the sentiment were cut from brown mirri card using Tattered Lace dies and glued to gold mirri card which had been cut using a Spellbinders label 4 die. I then added glitter to the top of the letters to simulate snow before attaching it to the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Happy Anniversary

It is my step-daughter's wedding anniversary next week and I just had to use this stamp from Lili of the Valley when I found it was called 'Meant to be'.
I matted and layered paper from Kaisercraft and core'dinations cardstock onto white card. I cut four corners from the same cardstock using a Tattered Lace victorian corner die and glue one in each corner and then glued a tiny gem in each. The sentiment was also cut using Tattered Lace dies.
I coloured the image using Promarkers and mattted and layered it onto core'dinations cardstock and gold mirri. I then edged the design with gold peel off. After fixing it to the card I glued a card candi into each of the four corners of this mount.

Collecting the tree

Another Christmas card completed! I made use of left over scraps of Papermania designer paper for this one. I matted them onto mauve mirri card and where the two papers met I wrapped ribbon round:- 1cm wide oganza ribbon and narrow satin ribbon on top. This was then matted onto white card.
The stamped image, collecting the tree from Lili of the Valley, was coloured using Promarkers and I added glitter to the upper side of the tree. I then matted this onto mauve mirri card cut out using a Spellbinders classic scalloped circle dieand attached it to the card using thin foam pads.
I cut varies snow flakes out of centura pearl card using Tattered lace dies. Three of them I covered in pale blue glitter and layered together. After attaching to the bottom right hand corner of the card I glued a pale blue gem stone in the centre. The other snowflakes I covered with purple glitter, layered and attached to the blue designer paper. A purple gem was glued to the centre of this.
Finally I cut a piece of blue mirri card using a Spellbinders lacy oval die, attached a peel off sentiment to it and fixed it to the card using thicker foam pads.

Bird on rose

It is a long time since I have used mulberry paper, so I thought I would dig it out again. I roughly tore the larger sheet and randomly stamped dog roses over it using one of the stamps from Chocolate Baroques 'Pretty birdcage' set. After lightly colouring the rose petals using Spectrum Noir pencils I matted it onto white card, attaching it with invisible glue dots.
The main image is stamped from another stamp in the set  and I coloured this using Promarkers. I then cut it out and matted it onto the darker mulberry paper before fixing it to the card.
I cut anoyher piece of white card in the shape of a tag, stamped it, coloured using Promarkers, threaded a ribbon through a hole I made and attached it to the card using foam pads. I then attached copper peel offs for the sentiment.
